Justback from a cheeky little walk on the farm, very strange insect some buchu

So apparently I am not a demon when it comes to figuring out the Blackberry, and I must confess these were all sent from my laptop back in the office, but I really do get a kick out of these moments of serenity, even though the wind is blowing an absolute hooligan right now, its so amazing to be able to nip out for ten minutes and be surrounded by so much natural beauty.

These are a series of shots from afore mentioned walk, I'm on the prowl for more of the fresh Franschhoek mountain Buchu I love so much, its also been a pretty heavy week with all the celebrations and bubbly consumed on Isabella's behalf so the buchu is necessary for helping the liver get over all the abuse at the hands of its owner....and I bumped into one of our more colourful residents of the Fynbos biome, this particular chap is seriously mean looking, and much like the orange hairy caterpillar(http://rambowine.posterous.com/they-see-me-rollin) I wouldnt tangle with this guy..a Common Metallic Longhorn, Promeces longipes, larave are born on the stems of the Rhus (taaibos) tree, which makes sense as the buchu grows in a dense stand of Rhus trees, and is found not only in Fynbos of the southwestern cape but along the coast all the way up the country.

Now I realise its going to take a lot more than photos of pretty fynbos and insects and mountains to convince the sceptic about the principles of farming with the Biodiversity principles in mind, today, I dont care. This all makes sense to me when you see it in action, Im am not going to convince you on these pages. Come to the farm, have a glass of wine with me and well chat.
